In her almost 40 years of practice, Laird has handled cases as diverse as suing the United States for contract balances to defending employers at administrative hearings on unemployment claims.  Currently, she represents business owners, contractors, subcontractors, sureties, and individuals in business disputes. 

In her almost 40 years of practice, Laird has handled cases as diverse as suing the United States for contract balances to defending employers at administrative hearings on unemployment claims.  Currently, she represents business owners, contractors, subcontractors, sureties, and individuals in business disputes.  Much of Laird’s practice relates to construction and surety law, a natural outgrowth of her previous work as an associate surety counsel for a major surety.  Additionally, Laird serves as a neutral on the American Arbitration Association’s complex construction case panel.

Laird is recognized by Martindale-Hubbell Attorney Directory with the AV Preeminent Rating (5.0 out of 5.0) and has been selected as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in Construction/Surety Law in the Texas Monthly Super Lawyers Edition every year since 2007.  Laird also is listed in the Best Lawyers Directory (Women in the Law, Best Attorneys in Texas)
